Saigon/CreativeMornings is now aSaigon/CreativeMorning

In keeping with our desire to adhere to international copyright standards and allow Tina from SwissMiss to expand internationally, we have amended our name to reflect a distinction from CreativeMornings(tm). But a rose by any other name is still a rose and our objective remains the same - to bring world-class inspirational creatives from any number of disciplines to spark creative thought and discussion in one of the world's fastest growing markets. We continue to work with Tina and hope to be part of her global network as she takes the steps to bring Asia online for CreativeMornings. Until then, we will simply be, aSaigon/CreativeMorning. Cheers.

Saigon/CreativeMornings welcomes new sponsors for coffee and breakfast!

Following our first event with Dustin Nguyen, Saigon/CreativeMornings is pleased to welcome two new sponsors for coffee and breakfast next session. They just wanted to see if we could pull one off without burning the place down :)

Malongo coffee, a home-grown and trusted name in France has been associated with the finest coffee products for over 70 years and its revolutionary Spresso coffee pods and machines are just really cool and convenient. Malongo also supports fair trade with small growers that insures it's top quality Arabicas are produced under decent working conditions providing sustainable production worldwide. A few of us on the S/CM team have enjoyed this coffee in Europe and are proud to help them introduce it to Vietnam.

The Tin Foil Grill, Nướng Giấy Bạc, located in the alley at 96/1 Le Thi Rieng, D1, has attracted many a discerning diner for it's eco conscious interior design and creatively fresh cuisine. Did we say cuisine? A look at the more than reasonable prices belies the true artistry and flavour in each dish. We can't wait to enjoy their creations for breakfast.

Thanks to actor, director, producer Dustin Nguyen and a spirited group of creatives, our first session was informative, casual and fun. We hope to have video up next week.

Thanks also to Sandrine, Bertrand and Mads for the photos and TBWA for the space :) More photos for download here.

We learned how not to make an "Instant noodle soup movie", just how tough the Vietnamese censors are as compared to Singapore and China, and just how many seconds your product can be on screen if you paid for product placement in a love scene - interesting stuff. More to follow.

And not one single person asked one single question about Johnny Depp.

Good Creative Mornings to you all.

More about Dustin can be found here.

Dustin Nguyen Unplugged?

What if we don't show video of his past work? What if you don't see his 21 Jump Street co-star Johnny Depp on film? What if we don't even have a microphone? Will you care? I hope not. Saigon/CreativeMornings is not about PowerPoint shows or corporate meeting stuff. We hope it's about real. Dustin will discuss the balance between art and commerce. For all those who signed up and will join us on Friday morning, thank you. Let's talk. Let's chat. Let's learn. Let's have fun. Good CreativeMornings to you. You made it happen. (Sandrine covers things here in French.)
